Born to Give Glory
October 27, 5 BC
The 24th day of the 7th Hebrew month.
Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem, saying, where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him. (Matthew 2:1-2)
The wise men from the East looked up to the heavens to understand the prophecy that pointed to the birth of Jesus as they followed His star.
In the article, Christmas 2.0, we invite you to read about when the true Christmas could be determined to be the 24th day of the seventh month.
This year, according to God’s calendar, the Hebrew anniversary of the birth of Christ falls on October 16 to 17. This is the true Christmas when we commemorate the birth of the Savior of the world.
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. (Isaiah 9:6)
At Jesus’ birth, the government was given to Him, symbolized by the sun in Libra, the balance of righteous judgment. The moon pointed to Virgo, the virgin of Israel, from whom He was born.
For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. (Luke 2:11)
The mission of Jesus’ birth was to save mankind from their sins. His work of redemption, which is the light of His glory, is presented across the heavens through the lights of heavenly glory above.
The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork. (Psalms 19:1)
But the time for redemption is fast coming to an end, as the midnight cry announcing the Second Coming of Jesus is already beginning to sound. A recent comet, R2 (SWAN), was at perihelion in the hand of Virgo near Spica—the spike of wheat that she holds, signaling the harvest of the good wheat. On this special Christmas day R2 has but a few days until its closest approach to earth and is in the area where the cross of Jesus is inferred by the heavenly symbolism. We recall the purpose of Christ’s birth in the dialog with His Father in prayer:
Now is my soul troubled; and what shall I say? Father, save me from this hour: but for this cause came I unto this hour. Father, glorify thy name. Then came there a voice from heaven, saying, I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again. (John 12:27-28)
Christ’s sacrificial character—His Father’s name—was glorified at this place by the full moon on May 25, AD 31, when He was lifted up on the cross at Golgotha. On this anniversary of the birth of Christ, R2 reminds all Christians of the wheat harvest to bear Christ’s testimony and reflect on His sacrificial character. Being lifted up in the lives of His people, He will draw many to Himself, bringing in the fullness of the harvest during the first days of Hanukkah in December.
Look up, dear Christians! The heavenly host is on their way, illuminating the skies for the wise virgins to heed the proclamation at midnight: “Behold, the Bridegroom cometh! Go ye out to meet Him!”
