INTERSTELLAR OBJECT 3I/ATLAS CAPTURED BY VERY LARGE TELESCOPE

The Asteroid Terrestrial-impact Last Alert System (ATLAS) survey telescope discovered the comet on July 1, 2025.

Closest approach to Earth will be ~1.8 astronomical units, which is about 170 million miles, or 270 million kilometers.
